The Axentis Michael Memorial Ball 2023

Back by popular demand, the Memorial Ball is the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust’s showpiece fundraising event and will return to The Grand Pier on November 25th 2023.

The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust started as a small charity to celebrate the life of Weston-super-Mare local hotelier, Axentis Michael, who passed away in 2003. The charity’s work is focused around the local area, distributing funds where it can make a difference to people’s lives. It is run by his family, who have been active in raising funds over the last twenty years.

The Memorial Ball was originally set up as a one-time event to celebrate the remarkable life of Axentis Michael, but due to its success it has evolved into a "must-do" bi-annual event.

The family, along with our numerous individual and corporate supporters, generously donate their time without charge. Furthermore, our hosts at The Grand Pier along with their dedicated staff stage the event free of charge to ensure that every penny pledged goes directly to helping those most in need within our local communities.

The trust has raised and distributed over £2 million through its supporters, local businesses and volunteers and has made sure that every pound raised goes directly to those in our local community most in need. The trust does not employ anyone and all of its duties are carried out by the family and very welcome volunteers. 

The Memorial Ball is once again set to be one of the highlights of the social calendar and is expected to attract guests from near and far. Below are some of the highlights of our previous events.
