Update: Regretfully, this event has been postponed due to Covid-19. We hope to announce a new date as soon as possible.
The much-anticipated Memorial Ball is set to return on Saturday 28 November 2020.
The bi-annual Memorial Ball is the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust’s showpiece fundraising event and will return to the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare at the end of this year.
The ball is once again set to be one of the highlights of the social calendar and is expected to attract guests from near and far. Celebrities and familiar faces who attended previous events include retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis, who also starred in the BBC 2 television series Dragon’s Den, as well as British clothes designer Jeff Banks. Others on past year’s guest lists included television presenter Quentin Wilson, entertainer Brian Conley and ex-Formula One racing driver Mark Blundell.
With an impressive venue a quarter of a mile out to sea, a spectacular line-up of entertainment and live music, plus a charity auction with several ‘money-can’t-buy’ experiences, this is set to be a night to remember.
The 2018 Memorial Ball raised an impressive £264,000 on one night and it’s hoped that this year’s event will once again exceed the previous amount raised. To date, the charity has given more than £1.5million to charitable causes in the local area.
The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust started as a small charity memorial to remember the life of Weston-super-Mare local hotelier, Axentis Michael, who passed away in 2003. The charity’s work is focused around the local area, distributing funds to the most worthy cases.
Full details about the event, including ticket prices and availability will be announced soon…
