Weston Hospicecare was chosen as the benefiting charity from the ‘Raffle for Good’ event sponsored by the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust, alongside local family estate agent, David Plaister Ltd, and Weston’s premier sea-front restaurant, REVO.
Between the three Weston-super-Mare businesses, an exclusive MG3 Excite was raffled off to a lucky winner with the event raising a staggering £35,000 for Weston Hospicecare.
Paul Winspear, CEO of Weston Hospicecare commented:
“These precious funds will help us deliver care to patients and families in our 10 bedded in patient unit in Uphill as well as across North Somerset in people’s homes via our community nursing team. This was truly a special Christmas gift and my heartfelt thanks go to the organisations that made this possible and everybody who bought a ticket.”
The hospice’s director of fundraising, Mark Flower, said:
“We are so grateful to everyone associated with the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust, REVO and David Plaister for this wonderful gesture."
"A further thanks to Howards Motor Group who continue to support the hospice by allowing the trio purchase the car at cost price."
