Providing financial support to those who need it the most, in and around Weston-super-Mare in North Somerset.
The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust is a local charity, for the local community created in loving memory of Weston-super-Mare hotelier and businessman, Axentis Michael, who passed away in 2003.
The Trust has raised and donated in excess of £2M since its formation, with major beneficiaries including Weston Hospicecare, Weston Hospital Children’s Ward and multiple local families and children with life-restricting conditions who have needed treatment not covered by the NHS.
The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust also supports and donates funds to local groups, charities and organisations who work to support the local community.
Over 2 million
raised for the local community to date
We are greatly appreciative to the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust who, through their charity, allowed us to send Aiden on an intense occupational therapy course which was designed around magic (Breathe Magic). The course is for children with hemiplegia and, through the learning of magic, it encourages them to try to do the everyday things they struggle with - fastening buttons, cutting food, shoe laces etc. Without the Trust we would not have been able to send him. Thank you to everyone at the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust.
"Without this wonderful donation, we wouldn’t have been able to purchase this specialist chair, which really will make an enormous difference to our patients."
John Bailey, Director of Patient Care at Weston Hospicecare.
"Thank you for enabling our family to have the freedom to do what many families take for granted. We are so grateful to the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust for their generous contribution, which will make a huge difference to Phoebe’s quality of life."
Charlotte Small, Phoebe’s Mum.
"I had a call from the Trust who said they were going to cover the rest of the costs I needed for my treatment - I couldn’t believe it. It would have taken me another three or four years, at least, to raise enough money."
Kevin Binding, Stroke Survivor.
"I had a phone call when I was putting the children to bed – the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust had offered to contribute £32,000 towards Jacob's treatment. My husband came down the stairs and I screamed! "
Nicola Baird, Jacob’s Mum.
"Thank you for enabling our family to have the freedom to do what many families take for granted."
Emma, Isabella’s Mum.
